Have you ever stared at a plant and saw it growing?
Our lives are like gardens. We have to tend to them with water, food, time, and pruning. Sometimes we expect to to skip all the tending and just be at the end goal. If we have dreams of being a musician, a writer, a teacher, a moviemaker, a preacher…or anything, we will need patience.
Many times growth is only seen in retrospect.
We wrestle with our insecurity and our pride. We beg God to speed up the process. But God knows what we need when we need it. Have you ever begged God to allow things to be a certain way, and when they didn’t work out, you were devestated? Me too. It’s so hard to swallow. But looking back, I am actually grateful God didn’t grant me what I wanted. His way is better.
I pray that we all can trust God with the timing of our dreams. I know you have a dream and a calling. If you feel scared and insignificant, know that God sees you and loves you.
He is patient with us so let us be patient with Him in the process. Let’s bask in the glow of our Lord, drink in the Living Water, allow God to remove the things that hold us back and choke us up. We are growing each day even if we can’t see it. But don’t give up on your dreams because you can be changing people’s lives each and every day and not even realize it. God can use us regardless how we feel about ourselves; regardless of where we are in the process.
Look around you and see who is growing with you. Let’s do this together. We aren’t just individual plants, left to fend for ourselves, but together we are a garden, growing together under the care of our Father.
Luke 8:15 “… As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.”
