Be afraid, be very afraid.

I have this feeling many of you are afraid. Afraid of failing. Afraid of being alone. Afraid of taking a risk. Fear can keep us from doing many things.  What are you missing out on? What are you being called to but you just can’t get past being afraid?  Lay those things before God. Ask Him to help you.

Fear can be a good thing.  I am afraid of having regrets. I am afraid of not pursuing my dreams and having a fulfilling life.  If these kind of fears are louder than our fear of failure than it can motivate us to change things and reach for things that seem kinda crazy to the rest of the world. Let’s be afraid of getting used to the everyday routine and mediocrity. Let’s keep our passion for what is good and pure. Let’s keep ourselves aware of what God is saying.  If we don’t then we get lazy and idle and we let our guard down. When we let our guard down we suddenly start thinking like the rest of the world. We start listening to the messages the media says and stop hearing God.  Let’s fear our creator and allow Him to motivate us to be in this world but not of it.

It’s not about not being afraid, but what we are afraid of. Let’s be afraid of not living a life worthy of our calling.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and
discipline.”   Proverbs 1:7
