The Best Weapon is knowing who you are

God loves you just as you are and is equipping you to fight against the enemy and set captives free!

God will fight for you when you can’t . Your biggest weapon is knowing that God loves you and calls you his child. Knowing who you are is half the battle .

The enemy can sneak in and we believe the lies he says about us when we start doubting our value and the way God sees us!

Remember Jesus says in John 15:15,

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

And don’t forget ,
1 Peter 2:9

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”

Psalm 139:13-16

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

I wanna visit the first church

“Brothers! Brothers! So now what do we do?”

Peter said, “Change your life. Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is targeted to you and your children, but also to all who are far away – whomever, in fact, our Master God invites.”
He went on in this vein for a long time, urging them over and over, “Get out while you can; get out of this sick and stupid culture!”

That day about three thousand took him at his word, were baptized and were signed up. They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers. Everyone around was in awe – all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.
Acts 2:38-47
The message

Renewed Day by Day

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Prune the Garden

“I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. “- John 15:1-2

What things in your life don’t produce anything good? It’s hard to let go of certain things, but ask yourself what can you let go of, that might make room for God to work ?  Surrender everything to God and when the dead branches fall away you will see your life abound in more fruit!

Fruit is the best when it’s Juicy

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.”

John 15: 1-17

What does it look like to remain in Christ in our daily life? Growing fruit takes hard work and patience. Scripture describes something we understand , like growing fruit, to describe our relationship with a spiritual being. In order to grow healthy fruit, we need to till the ground , plant seeds, water the seeds, tend to the growth process , and prune out the weeds. We need to tend to the process of our faith and spiritual formation . Let’s ask ourselves , are we growing ? Are we abiding in God ? What do I need to weed out before moving forward? How can I love others better ? When we ask these questions and make our lives a place where we can grow and be obedient to Christ , we can’t help but live out of the awe of God’s love, and give him glory with our lives.

The tug of war with Sin

130208095736-temptation--story-top                                                                                                                                                                                      If you’re struggling with sin, remember that God knows your heart and he knows you giving into that sin will take you where you don’t want to go. We aren’t kept from doing things so God can torture us, but because he loves us and when we trust him, and delight in him He will give us the desires of our hearts.

Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
